- Learn to communicate. Good communication can go a long way to resolve conflicts. Here are some keys to help become a good communicator during a conflict:
- Listen
- Relax
- Speak calmly and clearly
- Don’t lose your temper
- Don’t name call or place blame
- Use Empathy, learn to see and feel thing from the other person’s point of view.
- Negotiate; find out what makes both sides happy.
- Compromise and Collaborate, Compromise means that each side gives a little. Collaboration is when both sides get to keep something important to them.
- The longer conflicts last the less chance there is to resolve them or Walk away. Sometimes you will see the conflict is not important enough to waste your time and energy on. Learn to pick your battles.
