OBJECTIVE: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO ANALYZE WAYS DISEASE CAN AFFECT HEALTH
The students will research an infectious disease and a non-infectious disease. From that research the student will complete one of the following projects:
CHOICES:
1. RESEARCH PAPER: From the research the student has already done in class, write a page (or more) analyzing how a disease can affect health.
a. Name any micro-organism that caused the disease, or what caused the disease if it is not caused by a micro-organism.
b. Tell how the disease is transmitted.
c. Give the symptoms of the disease.
d. Tell how the disease can be controlled, treated or cured.
e. Give your resources (book, computer site, etc.)
2. BE A NEWSCASTER: Send me a recorded video of yourself giving a newscast about the disease you have researched in class analyzing how a disease can affect health.
a. Prepare your presentation from your research notes you did in class.Broadcast your presentation electronically. Make sure on your broadcast to include your first and last name, class code and school name.
b. Name any micro-organism that caused the disease in your newscast, or what caused the disease if it is not caused by a micro-organism.
